Privacy Policy
This policy explains how ByteQualia Inc. (“ByteQualia,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use Slowvale, Slow Vale, and related websites and services (collectively, the “Services”).
Plain-language summary: we collect the information needed to run the game, secure accounts, improve the product, and operate the AI-driven world. We do not publish private player messages or private character reasoning.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information, such as your email address, password credentials in protected form, and account identifiers.
- Profile, onboarding, survey, and invitation information.
- Content and actions you submit through the game, including messages, gifts, selections, and support communications.
- Payment and subscription information if paid services become available. Payment card details would be handled by our payment processor rather than stored directly by us.
Information collected automatically
- Device, browser, approximate network, access-log, and security information.
- Product usage and analytics events, such as pages or features used and interaction timing.
- Crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data.
- Game-world records needed to provide continuity, safety, support, and operation of the Services.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and personalize the Services; create and secure accounts; operate the persistent game world; deliver messages and requested features; analyze reliability and product usage; prevent abuse; communicate about the Services; comply with law; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
3. AI processing
Slow Vale uses artificial-intelligence models to operate characters and generate parts of the experience. Content and relevant game context may be sent to model-service providers so they can produce those results. We limit the context sent to what is needed for the applicable feature and use providers under service arrangements appropriate to our operations.
AI-generated characters are fictional. Do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed to use the Services.
4. Analytics, diagnostics, and cookies
We and our service providers may use local storage, cookies, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security, analytics, and diagnostics. You can control cookies through your browser, although blocking necessary storage may prevent parts of the Services from working.
5. How we share information
We may share information with service providers that support hosting, databases, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, AI processing, customer support, and payments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, during a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent.
We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Public game information
We may display aggregate statistics and selected public in-world records. Any such public surface is designed not to publish player account details, private player messages and gifts, private character reasoning, private story archives, individual money transfers, or model prompts. Fictional character names and public in-world activities may appear.
7. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services, maintain business and security records, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by data type. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
8. International processing
ByteQualia is a United States company and uses service providers in multiple locations. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, subject to the protections required by applicable law.
9. Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs. You may also opt out of non-essential communications. Contact us using the address below.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services evolve. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
