Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Slowvale, Slow Vale, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by ByteQualia Inc. (“ByteQualia,” “we,” “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You may not transfer or sell access to your account.
2. Beta service
The Services are currently offered as a limited beta. Features, availability, access limits, and game state may change. We may fix, rebalance, reset, suspend, or discontinue beta features when reasonably necessary to operate or improve the Services. We will try to give notice of material changes when practical.
3. AI-generated experience
The Services use artificial intelligence to generate character actions, dialogue, summaries, and other content. Results may be unexpected, inaccurate, or objectionable and do not represent the views of ByteQualia. Characters and their statements are fictional and are not professional advice. You should not rely on generated content for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the Services unlawfully or to harm, threaten, harass, exploit, or impersonate another person;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with security, access controls, rate limits, or normal operation;
- use automation to scrape, overload, or extract protected data from the Services without written permission;
- submit malware or content that infringes another person's rights; or
- use the Services to develop or facilitate fraud, money laundering, gambling, or real-money trading.
5. Fictional game economy
No real-money value: all in-game currency, property, goods, businesses, securities, prices, markets, and transactions are fictional gameplay elements. They are not deposits, investments, securities, stored value, or financial products.
Virtual items and currency cannot be purchased, redeemed, withdrawn, exchanged for cash, or transferred between players for real-world value. The Services do not provide banking, brokerage, money transmission, gambling, or investment services.
6. Subscriptions and payments
The beta is currently free. We may introduce optional or paid monthly subscriptions in the future. Before charging you, we will show the price, billing interval, included service, renewal terms, and cancellation method. Additional payment terms displayed at purchase will form part of these Terms. Taxes may apply. Unless required otherwise by law, charges for a billing period already started are non-refundable.
7. Your content
You retain any rights you hold in content you submit. You grant ByteQualia a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display that content solely as needed to provide, secure, improve, and promote the Services. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content.
8. Our intellectual property
The Services, software, visual design, names, logos, game systems, and materials supplied by ByteQualia are owned by ByteQualia or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for their intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or harm, or if suspension is reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or operation of the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” ByteQualia disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted service, preservation of beta game state, or that generated content will be accurate or appropriate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteQualia and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Services. ByteQualia's total liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us for the Services during the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to their jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice when appropriate. Continuing to use the Services after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
